About Our Medical Directors
Charles W. Cummings, M.D.
Executive Medical Director
Though he stepped down as director of otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital after more than a decade, Dr. Cummings remains a Distinguished Service Professor at Johns Hopkins and still cares for patients.
He has written more than 125 scientific papers and is senior editor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, in its fourth edition. He has co-authored surgical atlases on laryngeal surgery and surgical access and reconstruction.
Dr. Cummings has also served as director of the American Board of Otolaryngology, plus chairman of the Residency Review Committee and of the Advisory Council for Otolaryngology to the American College of Surgeons. He was chief of staff of The Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1997 to 1999 and serves on the board of directors of Johns Hopkins Medicine.
George H. Sack, Jr., M.D.
Medical Director
Dr. Sack is Medical Director for Johns Hopkins USA. His clinical activities involve periodic health assessments and the evaluation of complex diagnostic questions. He also has medical oversight responsibility for the Johns Hopkins affiliated Outpatient Clinic at Tokyo Midtown Medicine in Japan.
Dr. Sack is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Biological Chemistry in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins Medical School with an M.D. and later received a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency on the Osler Medical Service of the Johns Hopkins Hospital where he also was a postdoctoral fellow in Medical Genetics. He is a founding fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and is Board Certified in Clinical Genetics. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Association for the Advancement of science and the International Society of Amyloidosis. His research interests include studies of human amyloid genes, clinical amyloidosis and the application of molecular techniques to the study of human pathophysiology. He is the author of over 100 publications and two textbooks, the most recent – USMLE Genetics – was published in 2008.

Before You Arrive
Prior to your visit, you’ll be asked to complete a medical history assessment questionnaire. Our professional coordinators will then provide you with appointment confirmation and a complete schedule for your visit.
Personal Service
On the day of your arrival, your personal representative will greet and escort you to the Executive Health suite. He or she will also accompany you to appointments and assist you throughout the day. Amenities include:

Medical Consultations
You’ll meet first with your personal Executive and Preventive Health physician for a medical history and physical examination. Then, your personalized testing may include:
- Laboratory screening tests
- Comprehensive eye examination at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute
- Audiogram
- Electrocardiogram (resting)
- Prostate exam and prostate specific antigen (PSA) testing for men
- Gynecological examination and PAP smear for women
- Breast imaging

- Pulmonary function testing
- Hemoccult testing
- Nutritional assessment
- Vaccination review
Additional elective testing or consultations may include:

What to Expect
- Total care begins as soon as you make the call. Our staff assistant will ask you some basic information and assign a dedicated medical concierge to help you.
- Your medical concierge will call you directly the same day to gather more detailed information, and to send you any information that you might need. He or she may also request that you send some necessary documents, such as medical records.
- From there, your medical concierge will contact the relevant Johns Hopkins specialists and send your information to them for review.
- After the physician(s) determine the best course of action, your medical concierge will schedule your appointments in the most efficient way possible and confirm them with you.
- At that time, the medical concierge will also make recommendations for your travel needs—including transportation, hotels and local dining and entertainment options for you and any accompanying family members.

What to Expect
- Total care begins as soon as you make the call. Our staff assistant will ask you some basic information and assign a dedicated medical concierge to help you.
- Your medical concierge will call you directly the same day to gather more detailed information, and to send you any information that you might need. He or she may also request that you send some necessary documents, such as medical records.
- From there, your medical concierge will contact the relevant Johns Hopkins specialists and send your information to them for review.
- After the physician(s) determine the best course of action, your medical concierge will schedule your appointments in the most efficient way possible and confirm them with you.
- At that time, the medical concierge will also make recommendations for your travel needs—including transportation, hotels and local dining and entertainment options for you and any accompanying family members.
